On the evening of October 17, 2023, Chen Hongbing, professor and doctoral supervisor of Southeast University School of Law, was invited by the People's University of China Publishing House to carry out an online lecture titled How to Learn Criminal Law Sub-rule. At the beginning of the lecture, Prof. Chen Hongbing introduced the origin of the new book Criminal Law Commonly Used Hundred Crimes Explained. The book takes the law as the entry, takes the problem as the guidance, takes the case as the clue, comprehensively applies the method of criminal law interpretation, carries out the comprehensive concise explanation of its constituent elements and boundary relationship, and the 100 key crimes basically cover most of the commonly used and frequently examined crimes in the sub-rule.
Subsequently, Prof. Chen Hongbing focused on the theme of how to learn the sub-rule of criminal law, combined with typical cases, and flexibly applied the method of criminal law interpretation to give an in-depth explanation on how to grasp the purpose and balance. In the course of one and a half hour lecture, Prof. Chen Hongbing developed detailed argumentation on issues in specific cases with full enthusiasm and meticulous logic, not only taught important conceptual issues in criminal law in depth, but also analyzed difficult and complex issues in the specific application of criminal law in a detailed manner, which fully demonstrated solid and profound theoretical foundation in criminal law and rich practical experience. Finally, Prof. Chen Hongbing also expressed his expectation for the students, hoping that they would cherish the study time, study the criminal law monographs carefully, not be confined by the existing general theory and judicial interpretation, and recognize the truth and grasp the truth.
